Lanzarote, jak już wiecie z mojego artykułu pt. : „Lanzarote, wyspa wiecznej wiosny”, należy do ścisłej czołówki odwiedzanych przeze mnie miejsc. Tam właśnie napisałam dlaczego czuję się w tamtym miejscu jak w domu, dlaczego polecam jego atmosferę i co najbardziej warto zobaczyć.

Tutaj chcę wszystkim wybierającym się na tę jedną z Wysp Kanaryjskich, przybliżyć najważniejsze informacje dotyczące pobytu, poruszania się i spędzenia tam miło czasu. Zachęcić do samodzielnego eksplorowania wyspy i poznania jej fascynującej historii.

Najlepszym odnośnikiem do podstawowych wiadomości może być strona oficjalna Lanzarote. W obecnej sytuacji również warto przed wyjazdem sprawdzić dokładnie zasady przybywania na wyspę ze względu na COVID19. Obowiązujące zasady podróżowania do Hiszpanii można znaleźć na stronie Ministerstwa Spraw Zagranicznych.

TRANSPORT

Jeśli należycie do grupy podróżników zawsze uzależnionych od publicznego transportu, polecam zatrzymanie się w Arrecife, dokąd zabierze Was autobus Intercity ( nr 22 lub 23) z lotniska Aeropuerto Lanzarote za jedyne €1,40. Jeżeli natomiast zdecydujecie się na pobyt w innych rejonach wyspy – Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen, Yaiza czy Puerto Calero, należy udać się tam busem nr 161 ( ceny zróżnicowane od € 1,40 – € 3,30 ).

Arrecife jednak jest zdecydowanie najlepszym punktem wypadowym, jeśli ma się zamiar korzystać z lokalnego transportu. Stamtąd z łatwością można się dostać do reszty pomniejszych miejscowości. Poruszając się autobusami, mamy też do dyspozycji tzw. Bus Card.

Biorąc pod uwagę rozmiar wyspy oraz jej przepiękne położenie, możemy też poruszać się po niej rowerem ( miejsc, gdzie można wynająć za np. €5 rower jest w Arrecife całe mnóstwo 😀 ), albo po prostu wynająć auto.

ZWIEDZANIE

Lanzarote ma w sobie całą paletę barw, głównie dzięki różnorodności krajobrazu. Lista miejsc do zobaczenia zadowoli praktycznie wszystkie gusta. Od plaż, poprzez jaskinie, po kaktusowe ogrody, czy oryginalnie ulokowane restauracje.

Tutaj także można znaleźć idealne tereny dla poszczególnych sportów : surfingu, golfa, kolarstwa, nurkowania, biegania, czy po prostu dlugich spacerów. Lanzarote, as you already know from my article: „Lanzarote, the island of eternal spring„, is one of the top places I visit. That’s where I wrote why I feel at home in that place, why I recommend its atmosphere, and what is most worth seeing.

Here, I want everyone, who chooses this – one of the Canary Islands, bring the most important information about staying, moving, and spending a nice time there. Encourage you to explore the island by yourself and learn about its fascinating history.

The best link to basic information can be the official Lanzarote website. In the current situation, it is also worth checking the rules of arriving at the island before traveling due to COVID19. The applicable measures for traveling to Spain can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

TRANSPORT

If you belong to a group of travelers always relied on public transport, I recommend stopping at Arrecife, where you can take the Intercity bus (No. 22 or 23) from Aeropuerto Lanzarote for only € 1.40. However, if you decide to stay in other areas of the island – Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen, Yaiza, or Puerto Calero, you should go there by bus number 161 (prices vary from € 1.40 – € 3.30)

Arrecife is definitely the best starting point if you intend to use local transport. From there, you can easily get to the rest of the smaller towns. Moving on buses, we also have the so-called Bus Card.

Knowing the size of the island and its beautiful location, we can also move on it by bicycle (places where you can rent for, for example, € 5 a bike in Arrecife a whole lot 😀 ), or just rent a car.

SIGHTSEEING

Lanzarote has a whole palette of colors, mainly due to the diversity of the landscape. The list of places to see will satisfy virtually all tastes. From beaches, through caves, to cactus gardens, or originally located restaurants.

All other typical and non-typical tourist attractions can also be found on the CACT Lanzarote website. A visit to most of these places can be organised completely independently.

But Lanzarote is also, contrary to appearances, a place liked not only by tourists or travellers. Here you can also find ideal areas for individual sports: surfing, golf, cycling, diving, running or simply long walks. Proponents of active leisure can find details at Lanzarote European Sports Destination.

Of course, the Canary Islands are also a kingdom of delicious local cuisine. Olives, seafood, fresh fruit, and vegetables are all guests on the tables of Canarian restaurants. There are many cultural events on the island. The calendar of events is available on the official Lanzarote website. Some of those planned for the summer period, were unfortunately cancelled, but some were just postponed a bit.

Na temat Wiednia pisałam już w kilku artykułach : „Wiedeń, królestwo detali„, „Jarmarki bożonarodzeniowe”. Można w nich znaleźć sporo wskazówek i porad, jak podróżować po stolicy Austrii.

W tym dziale, chcemy Wam przedstawić Wiedeń, i okolice (szczególnie Baden), jako jedną z naszych specjalizacji. Jest to miejsce, gdzie podróżuję często, od wielu, wielu lat. TRANSPORT

W zależności skąd do Wiednia podróżujecie, do austriackiej stolicy można się dostać na kilka sposobów : samolotem, autem, pociągiem, a nawet busem. Lotnisko Schwechat ma trzy terminale, jest bardzo dobrze oznaczone, średniej wielości. Ma swoją stację kolejową, przystanek autobusowy zaraz przy wejściu, park biurowy i kilka okolicznych hoteli. Jest oddalone od centrum miasta o ok 1h. Najlepszą metodą na dostanie się do wybranych miejsc, jest kupienie biletu na pociągu ( RJ, RJX, S2, S7CAT ) , za jednyne € 4,20, do wiedeńskiego dworca głównego, lub stacji Wien Mitte.

Po mieście można się poruszać się siecią autobusów, tramwajów, bądź metrem (U-bahn). Bardzo użyteczna może okazać się Vienna City Card. Wszelkie informacje na temat publicznego transportu znaleźć można na stronie Vienna*now*forever.

ZWIEDZANIE

Do najpopularniejszych punktów turystycznych należą :

• Muzeum Etnologiczne,

WYDARZENIA

Wiedeń przez cały rok zapewnia całe mnóstwo atrakcji, wydarzeń kulturalnych, imprez plenerowych i nie tylko. Rok 2020 będzie w Wiedniu obfitował w szereg wydarzeń związanych z twórczością Beethovena. Świątując 250tą rocznicę urodzin kompozytora, będziemy mogli podziwiać nie tylko jego twórczość, ale i związane z nią liczne wpływy na późniejsze pokolenia muzyków.

I have already written about Vienna in couple of articles: „Vienna, the kingdom of details”, „Christmas markets„. You can find there a lot of tips and advice on how to travel around the Austrian capital.

However in this section, we want to introduce you to Vienna and the surrounding area (especially Baden) as one of our specialties. It is a place where I travel often, for many, many years. A place, that changes, which can captivate even the most demanding tourist, a place where you can relax a lot , while learning.

TRANSPORT

Depending on where you travel to Vienna from, you can get to the Austrian capital in several ways: by plane, by car, by train and even by bus. Schwechat Airport has three terminals, is very well marked, medium size. Has its own train station, bus stop right at the entrance, office park and several nearby hotels. It is about 1 hour away from the city center. The best way to get to selected places is to buy a ticket on the train (RJ, RJX, S2, S7,CAT), for just € 4.20, to Vienna’s Main Station or Wien Mitte station.

You can move around the city by a network of buses, trams or the subway (U-bahn). The Vienna City Card can be very useful. All information on public transport can be found on the Vienna * now * forever website.

SIGHTSEEING

The most popular tourist points include:

FARO – THE BLUE REGION OF PORTUGAL

The December weather in London can put literally everyone in a really sad mood. Cold, wet, dark… Even if the temperature outside the window is nothing like Polish frost, the weather is not too positive. In a another word – vit D deficiency guaranteed…

Looking for a warm place in Europe five years ago, where a thermometer would show more than 15 C, my choice fell on the south of Portugal, the Algarve region. Faro – a medium-sized town, picturesquely located by the Atlantic Ocean, southernmost area, near the Ria Farmosa Natural Park.

As it turned out on the spot, the area not only offered a beautiful sun, but also, and for me, above all – peace, charm and an almost idyllic atmosphere. Charming tiny streets, small Old Town, nice cafes, and all surrounded by Cidade Velha, thick walls of the city, which dates back to the 9th century.

The first traces of settlements in the Algarve region come from the 4th century BC .Today’s Faro is a place influenced by many cultures: from the Phoenicians, Visigoths, through the Romans, to Jewish and Arab culture. Their remains are clearly visible in architecture and monuments. Experienced by crusades, floods and even earthquakes, Faro is today not only a historical testimony of this part of the world, but above all a city where, far from resorts, one can admire such real, local Portugal.

Next to the beautiful Cathedral, Se de Faro, built on the site of a former mosque, Castelo de Faro castle, or Governor’s Palace, Alfonso III, by far the most attention-grabbing place is Capela dos Ossos, the Skull Chapel. It is located in the back yard of the Igreja da Carmo church. The chapel is small, but amazingly frightening and fascinating at the same time. Lined with real human bones, exhumed from a nearby cemetery in the 19th century. The cemetery was full at that time, and thus it was decided to allocate bones belonging to the monks, to cover the walls of the chapel. This view makes a really amazing impression … For those, who are always on the run, a very good option is the possibility of an organised tour in historical footsteps of Faro.

However, Faro is also the aforementioned beautiful nature. Well-known lagoons, where you can observe animals in their natural surroundings, sandy beaches or possibility of admiring the birds, that migrate from the north of Europe to the Algarve in winter.

Noteworthy is also very mild and aromatic, tasty Portugal cuisine. In addition to typical meat dishes, we can enchant the palate with deliciously prepared seafood and very good wines. Using fresh products on a regular basis, sprinkling them with local spices from local crops, this kitchen is definitely recommendable at any time of the year, even outside the so-called season.

Moving around Faro is not complicated. The city has its own airport, train station and bus network. Details of rail access can be found on the Combios de Portugal website. Bus timetables on the Algarve Public Transport. Faro also has its own bus station, Próximo. Avid hikers can also go from Faro to Gibraltar.

I have to admit that I’ve got nothing but good memories about our week in the south of Portugal. I was really surprised by this area. The townspeople were extremely friendly and helpful, even knowing that we understood completely nothing in their language 🤣🙈. Delicious cuisine, affordable prices, no everyday European rush, extremely pleasant views for every eye, the nature of the Algarve surrounding them, are just a few of the reasons why I honestly recommend that direction for a holiday break 😀

FARO – BŁĘKITNY REJON PORTUGALII

Grudniowa pogoda w Londynie potrafi człowieka wpędzić w naprawdę smętny nastrój. Zimno, mokro, ciemno… Nawet jeśli temperatura za oknem w niczym nie przypomina polskich mrozów, i tak aura nie nastraja zbyt pozytywnie. Jednym słowem deficyt witaminy D murowany…

Szukając pięć lat temu ciepłego miejsca w Europie, gdzie termometr wskazywałby więcej niż 15 C, mój wybór padł na południe Portugalii, rejon Algarve. Faro – średniej wielkości gmina, malowniczo położona nad Oceanem Atlantyckim, najbardziej na południe wysunięte miasteczko, znajdujące się w pobliżu Parku Przyrodniczego Ria Farmosa.

Jak się zaś okazało na miejscu, okolica nie tylko oferowała piękne słońce, ale również , a dla mnie właściwie przede wszystkim – spokój, urok i niemal sielankową atmosferę. Urokliwe małe uliczki, niewielkie Stare Miasto, przyjemne kawiarenki, a wszystko otoczone Cidade Velha, czyli grubymi murami miasta, których początki sięgają IXw.

Pierwsze ślady osad w rejonie Algarve pochodzą z IV w p.n.e. Dzisiejsze Faro, jest miejscem, na który wpływ miało wiele kultur : od Fenicjan, Wizygotów, poprzez Rzymian, aż po kulturę żydowską i arabską. Ich pozostałości doskonale widać w architekturze i zabytkach. Doświadczone również przez krucjaty, powodzie, a nawet trzęsienia ziemi, Faro, dziś jest nie tylko historycznym świadectwem tego rejonu, ale przede wszystkim miastem, gdzie z dala od resortów, można podziwiać taką szczerą, lokalną Portugalię.

Obok pięknej Katedry, Se de Faro, powstałej na miejscu dawnego meczetu, zamku Castelo de Faro, czy Pałacu Gubernatora, Alfonso III, zdecydanie najbardziej przyciągającym uwagę miejscem jest Capela dos Ossos, Kaplica Czaszek. Znajduje się ona na tylnym dziedzińcu kościoła Igreja da Carmo. Kapliczka jest niewielka, ale zdumiewająco przerażająca i fascynująca zarazem. Wyłożona prawdziwymi ludzkimi kośćmi, ekshumowanymi z pobliskiego cmentarza w XIX wieku. Cmentarz był wówczas przepełniony, i tym samym postanowiono przeznaczyć kości należące do mnichów, do wyłożenia nimi ścian kaplicy. Widok ten robi naprawdę niesamowite wrażenie… Dla tych, którzy wiecznie w biegu, bardzo dobrą opcją jest możliwość zorganizowanej wycieczki historycznymi śladami Faro.

Jednak Faro to również wspomniana, piękna przyroda. Znane laguny, gdzie można obserować zwierzęta w ich naturalnym otoczeniu, piaszczyste plaże, czy podziwiać ptaki, które z północy Europy na zimę migrują w rejony Algarve.

Na uwagę zasługuje również bardzo łagodna i aromatyczna, smaczna kuchnia portugalska. Obok typowych mięsnych potraw, możemy podniebienie zauroczyć pysznie przygotowanymi owocami morza, i wyśmienitymi winami. Wykorzystywanie świeżych produktów na bieżąco, okraszanie ich lokalnymi przyprawami z miejscowych upraw, jest cechą tej kuchni, kóra zdecydowanie jest godna polecenia o każdej porze roku, nawet poza tak zwanym sezonem.

Poruszanie się po Faro nie jest skomplikowane. Miasto ma swoje lotnisko, stację kolejową oraz sieć autobusów. Szczegóły dojazdów kolejowych, możemy znaleźć na stronie Combios de Portugal. Rozkłady jazdy autobusów natomiast na Algarve Public Transport. Faro posiada również własną stację autobusową, Próximo. Zapaleni zaś wędrowcy mogą się również z Faro wybrać na Gibraltar.

Muszę przyznać, że bardzo miło wspominam nasz tydzień na południu Portugalii. Byłam tym rejonem naprawdę bardzo mile zaskoczona. Mieszkańcy miasteczka byli niezwykle przyjaźni i pomocni, nawet wiedząc, że nic a nic nie rozumieliśmy w ich języku 🤣🙈.
